New Shot, VERY rough blocking

Hey all! I hope everyone had a good weekend!

So it took some time for me to figure out the character. I went back and forth about how I wanted to play it.  Alot of the prep work I did doesnt really apply anymore :)

So here is a VERY rough blocking on how I want this to go.  (I do want to add a little shaky cam, but if it wont work or is too cliche, Im fine with leaving it out.)

Thank you in advance! Ellen

  1. Hi Ellen,
Thanks for uploading. I like how you've included all the personal items in his locker to tell us about who he is. I also like how simply you're playing the acting. There is not enough information in this blocking for me, though. For a subtle shot like this, you need to put more information in the face in your first pass. I'd love to see some expressions in his mouth, and some more information in the eyes, such as blinks. I'm not clear on why he decides to mention the lumberjack. Is he getting nervous about who will see this recording? If so, he should look at the camera earlier, then go internal to think of what to say next. Beyond that, I'm not sure how he feels about being a lumberjack. Is this a sincere desire? A guilty pleasure? A lie? Again, adding more expression in the face should help clarify this. Looking forward to seeing more!
