I've been trying a bunch of different gestures for my shot, trying to find the right combination. I uploaded a version I like to Syncsketch (without the ending of the shot). My main worry is that it feels too busy, and/or the gesture during "nobody asked me" isn't reading like I'd like it to. What do you think? Do you have any ideas?
Thank you very much!
Hi Cody, I think the wave on 'that's not the point' is working better. The arm raise on "nobody asked me" feels a bit big; I wonder if you need it at all. The hand pose on "husbands" is definitely too broad, and doesn't feel like an old lady. I think for gestures, less is more in this case. Just the first wave is probably sufficient, otherwise it doesn't feel true to character. I recommend looking at some Maggie Smith reference. She doesn't gesture much, but she does some great accents with head angle, and she's often working with a cane. Here's a highlight clip, but you can probably find more with a search:

Gotcha, that's great reference! I guess I've been so focused on gestures I forgot I was animating an old person! I'll simplify and make her movements more restricted, should have a full blocking pass by Wednesday.
